So who never does anything in their lunch hour? I never used to but now I have a whole hour to get out and do something. When you’re sat in front of a computer screen all day it is a relief to get out and move. Rain or shine I’ve been getting out for a walk or run and feel so good for it (other than I eat a ridiculous amount!)
Starting is always the hardest part but the more you do it and the more that you feel the benefits the more that you want to do it! Running was never something that I particularly enjoyed before I came to work with Trail Running and Trail but the teams love getting out. They’ve got such a wonderfully positive attitude. It is amazing the amount of motivation that you can get from the people around you and their reactions to doing exercise. We’re slowly amassing a little running club in our lunch breaks, which is wonderful. It makes the time go quickly and it’s great for meeting new people and having a laugh – just what you need when your work is office based.
Today we started the first of many hill sprints. We plan to carry them on and despite it being some of the hardest forty minutes that I can remember for some time I was completely glad we did it. It was muddy and hot and exhausting but I felt so good for the exercise. I have noticed from running into work how soon you improve when you keep at it. It will come. I am determined of it.
