It had never been something I’d thought possible for me to do so when my first ever piece on wild camping was published in the June issue of Trail Magazine 2015 I was over the moon. It was a write up of my first time out sleeping wild and the experience was so outstanding -despite getting cold – and very wet the next day in the middle of March that to see it laid out on paper made me feel so proud of myself. After working hard to get where I was it was satisfying to see something come of it (besides putting food on the table and a roof over my head – any job can do that). To land in an industry that I’d trained for with a subject that I was passionate about seemed too good to be true.
Here you can see our camping spot on High Cup Nick, while we walked part of the Pennine Way to celebrate it’s 50th anniversary. The sunset down this valley was beautiful. Hands down there is no better way to spend an evening than outside, wrapped up against the cold with hot food while watching the sun set. Bliss!
